Rosie's Tavern of Dunedin
About This Spot
Stepping into Rosie's Tavern of Dunedin feels like slipping into a well-lived neighborhood hideaway where the rhythms slow down just enough to invite meaningful connections. Nestled quietly off the bustling main strip, its warm, unpretentious vibe welcomes both longtime locals and curious visitors seeking a genuine reprieve from the Florida heat. Whether you're settling in for a shaded outdoor seat or choosing the cozy indoor nook accented with an array of international flags, the pace here encourages easy conversation and moments of quiet enjoyment.
The bar’s charm lies as much in its atmosphere as in its thoughtful selection of brews and snacks that feel perfectly paired with every visit. Expect a handful of familiar favorites alongside a rotating offering of local drafts and unique finds like elderberry cider or a Kentucky bourbon barrel ale — each sip anchoring the experience in something comfortably familiar yet subtly distinct. And then there’s the popcorn, a humble but beloved staple that seems to carry its own kind of magic, effortlessly enhancing the laid-back gatherings that unfold at the bar.
More than just a spot to grab a drink, Rosie's is a place where stories quietly emerge — from the friendly bartender swapping pet tales inspired by snapshots on the walls, to a casual nod among patrons sharing the soft hum of live music or the collective calm of an afternoon pause. It’s a place where the human moments aren’t just background noise but part of the fabric that makes this tucked-away tavern feel like a little treasure.
Comfortably unassuming yet thoughtfully curated, Rosie's Tavern offers a relaxed bar experience with a distinctive local flavor. It’s the kind of spot where you come as you are, welcome lingering just a little longer, accompanied by the crackle of conversation, the subtle clink of glasses, and the warm ease of a community that feels like home—even if only for an evening.

I have always loved coming here. The best part is the popcorn that they have! the service is always amazing and still to this day I have not found their signature cow pig.

If you're looking for a place to have a nice cool drink and slip out of the heat you have found it! Strike up a conversation with the friendly staff and hear the heart touching stories about the photos of pets on the wall and the slideshow. They have a solid selection of beverages and even some popcorn and snacks to much on why you enjoy your drink.

Nice little place with a warm atmosphere, nice selection of beers and very friendly service. Really like the location, off the main strip but still close to all the shops and sights. They offer indoor seating and also a comfortable, shaded, patio. We were walking with our dog and this place is pet friendly, so it was great for all of us. Highly recommend.

Nice friendly spot to grab a beer. It’s not a big place on the inside; a European pub (they seem to have flags of a bunch of different countries, not just England or Ireland) with room for maybe 8-10 people at the bar and 5 or 6 high-top tables. However, they have a decent sized outdoor patio with chairs and umbrellas, and occasionally have live music. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the prices are decent as well.

Scottish pub vibes. Only place in town to get a proper Guinness. Free popcorn (everyone needs electrolytes). Great beer/wine pub for those who don’t want to stare at phones and be anti social.

Love this place! I've been several times and will continue to go. Located in Downtown Dunedin close to lots of shopping and eateries. Delicious beers, quality service (but only one bartender so if they are busy you'll be in a line). We love sitting out on the patio area and listening to the singers when they are there. Ask about the cow-pig...

Great little pub. The bartender Charlie is an amazing guy. Love the tribute dog wall and free popcorn. Probably the best selection of beers and cleanest lines i have drank from in Dunedin.
